We’re having a friendly travel competition during the trip. The girls can earn points doing various things as we go along our way. Prizes awarded based on 1st place, 2nd place, etc. Track their progress here! 🙂 Here are the rules:

• Take a roadside attraction selfie = 1pt, share it on the blog 4 extra pts 
• Leapfrog at stops = 2pts
• Learn a fun fact about a local = 10 pts
• Look up an interesting historical fact about a place we’re visiting = 12pts
• Pic at a Welcome To… sign = 1pt , share it on the blog 4 extra pt
• Eat a local specialty food = 5 pts
• When we get back in the car and drive back onto the road, the first person to yell “BEST ROAD TRIP EVER!” = 3 pts
  

The girls have been taking the competition very seriously! It’s pretty funny to watch them jostle to talk to folks we run into. Believe it or not, Violet and Allie were the FIRST ones to get points for learning a fun fact about a local!!! Also, there has been a lot of leap frog!

In between stops, we have a tub of pink papers with various travel games and challenges. For a bunch of the games, the winner can pick a wrapped mystery prize from the prize bag. Since there are 10 pink papers, the girls wisely decided to ration them to 2 per driving day.
