We woke up in our Airbnb in Angelica, NY to find some baby birds on our porch! After packing up quickly, we had breakfast at a cute coffee shop a couple doors down, which was attached to a sweet little antique shop. We took turns shopping while our food was being made.

After breakfast, Pennsylvania! Our first couple stops were supposed to be a bit haunted. Things didn’t go exactly as planned, but we did manage to see some beautiful views and a few spooky things.
Stop 1 was meant to be a hike on the Mid State Trail to a Haunted Vista a rock maze hidden in the woods. Well, it was hidden. We couldn’t find it. Fortunately, the hike was short and very pretty. The terrain was similar to Allegany State Park, with giant rocks and trees and ferns.

After the hike, we headed further into Pennsylvania to visit the Wildwood Cemetery, which is famous for being divided down the center- one side is haunted with good spirits, the other with bad. Other legends say that there are fairies, that ghosts bang on the walls of the crypts, and that the angel near the entrance weeps and changes position. The girls checked it all out.

The view of the town from the top of the cemetery hill was an unexpected and lovely treat.

Our last activity of the day was a visit to Knoebels Amusement Park. We arrived a couple hours before closing, so it was cooler and quieter. The girls disappeared with their ticket books and rode a bunch of rides without mom watching over them. Jillian went on her first roller coaster!

The last stretch of the day was a drive to our accommodations- the basement of a barn! A bit more on that in tomorrow’s post.
The girls are getting along beautifully and having a lot of fun. They are playing car games, listening to music, goofing around. It’s good.
